Professional Experience
- I have three years of experience within my business, as well as countless off-the-record projects for friends prior to and since starting my business.
- Like many freelancers, I am largely self-taught. I continually seek out reading materials, courses, webinars, and advice from other experienced freelancers, and work to improve my skills.
- As copyediting is one of my primary services, I am in the process of obtaining a Proofreading and Editing Certificate from the College of Media and Publishing, something I would have achieved sooner had I not been forced to lay it aside for awhile and prioritize my family.
- Having obtained that, I will likely be joining the Northwest Editor’s Guild and the Editorial Freelancers Association, where I have connections, but we will see where the Lord leads me.
- I do my best to provide high-quality services for fair prices and in good time. If a skill is not my forté, I’m not obtuse about that and adjust my rates accordingly.
What Kind of Content Do I Work With, and What Do I Avoid?

I Love Variety
My area of expertise is copyediting and formatting clean and Christian books for Indie authors, but my services have range, and you can find me contributing writing to magazines, scripting videos, writing and editing blog articles, and even, on occasion, ghostwriting entire books. Being an author and avid reader of many genres, I'm also an editor of many genres, ranging from nonfiction business books to epic fantasy.
I am selective in my work, however. I search for serious writers who align with my core values and want to put out high-quality work to the glory of God.
I don’t work with explicit content at all, avoid graphic and unnecessary violence, and keep far away from the world of glorified sin and abuse seen so often in secular literature, especially popular romance genres.
I also don’t work with material written by Artificial Intelligence (AI), nor do I write or edit with AI myself. I believe creativity is a gift from God, Generative AI is a sad replacement for that gift, and there are ethical concerns regarding the potential for AI plagiarism of existing work, taking the jobs of true creatives, and putting shoddy work out for the next generation. I am a firm supporter of humans remaining in and reclaiming the creative sphere.

One More Thing . . .
I also do free Alpha, Beta, and ARC reading. However I choose those even more selectively on an individual basis, usually reading for those with whom I have some acquaintance who ask me personally, or for publicly listed requests for ARC/Beta readers that I apply to based on how well they fit my reading preferences. Technically, they’re free additional services I offer, but they’re not “just anyone” services. You will see me talk about them if you keep up with my work/writing, though.
